Canadian Tire Corporation is seeking a Senior Advisor, Corporate Communications, to join its Communications team on a 12-month contract. The successful candidate will have exceptional writing skills and experience in executive, corporate, or employee communications. Reporting to the Senior Writer, the Senior Advisor will contribute to executive and corporate communications while flexing to support projects across the broader communications team.
Support the planning, writing, and editing of communications that articulate CTC’s True North strategy and educate, inspire, and entertain stakeholders
Maintain the executive communications content calendar to ensure alignment with corporate timelines and priorities and coordinate the timely delivery of materials across channels
Prepare background materials, fact-check content, and synthesize information to strengthen the impact of executive and corporate communications
Develop briefing documents and reports to facilitate the planning, execution, and assessment of executive communication strategies and initiatives
Partner with colleagues across the corporate communications team and other departments to align messaging and deliver integrated communications plans and tactics across internal and external channels
Provide writing and communications expertise on cross-functional projects and for other teams as needed, including corporate communications, employee communications, and events, ensuring continuity and impact as priorities evolve
8+ years of communications experience, preferably in an executive, employee, or corporate communications role
Post-secondary education in Communications/Public Relations, Journalism, or a related liberal arts/humanities degree
Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt tone, style, and voice across formats and channels
Exceptional command of grammar, punctuation, and style; confidence serving as a go-to resource for editorial questions
Proven research and analytical skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear, engaging content
Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines
A collaborative, flexible approach with the ability to work independently, in partnership with the Senior Writer, or collaboratively on large, cross-functional projects
Experience building relationships across teams and adapting to support shifting business needs
A creative, continuous learner who welcomes and offers candid feedback
