Job summary

Desjardins Group is seeking a senior property management, build-out and safety advisor in Montreal, Canada. The role focuses on fire prevention, building safety, lease management and policy development.

You will lead complex projects, coordinate with multiple stakeholders and coach decision-making bodies to drive strategic initiatives. You will leverage a strong knowledge base to design plans, monitor budgets, and ensure safety standards across properties.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Six years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of French is required; English is helpful due to interactions with partners.

Responsibilities

  • Advise clients and partners to plan and monitor strategic projects.
  • Identify and diagnose major issues for decision-makers.
  • Negotiate and draft complex leases while minimizing costs.
  • Develop and update policies, models and programs for strategic initiatives.
  • Develop budgets and schedules for major projects and monitor them closely.

Job description

As a senior property management, build-out and safety advisor, you assist with fire prevention and building safety and management. You help create plans, assist with build-outs and lease management, and help develop building safety and fire prevention policies. You lead development projects and strategic initiatives that are complex and innovative. Your initiatives require extensive knowledge of your specialty area. You make recommendations on the planning and execution of operationally and conceptually complex projects and initiatives that require comprehensive analysis and understanding of the organization and line of business. Coordination is critical, so you frequently interact with stakeholders working in many other fields. Interpersonal savvy is therefore essential. You serve as specialist advisor and subject matter expert, as well as resource person and coach for decision-making bodies.

More specifically, you will be required to:
  • Advise your clients and partners to help them position, plan, develop, execute and monitor strategic projects and initiatives
  • Identify, analyze and diagnose major issues and make recommendations to decision-making bodies
  • Negotiate, prepare and draft complex, high-value leases while minimizing transaction costs
  • Develop and update policies, standards, models and programs to support your unit’s strategic projects and initiatives
  • Develop budgets and schedules for major projects and monitor them closely
  • Represent your unit before decision-making bodies and external partners

What you bring to the table
