If you possess good strategic judgment and thinking and have been in an advisor role, we have an exciting opportunity for you. We are currently looking to hire a Senior Advisor to support the Chief Capital Officer

What you will Do

Under the guidance and direction of the Chief Capital Officer, you will support the development and implementation of strategic objectives and initiatives for their Office. To this end, you will work closely with leaders across the Engineering, Construction and Expansion (EC&E) Group to facilitate various projects, programs and work initiatives and ensure that work plans are on track. You will provide strategic advice to the Chief to ensure that work across the Group is aligned and integrated effectively.

Review ongoing strategic projects and work initiatives, highlight external impacts of and connections/interdependencies between programs and projects within the Group, and make recommendations to the Chief with an aim of aligning, integrating and maximizing work.

As Senior Advisor, you will also ensure the assigned Chief and Department Heads are fully briefed on all at risk initiatives and deliverables. You will also lead and coordinate strategic input to the Chief’s TTC Board Reports as well as, provide input into other Chief’s Board Reports.

You will act as a centralized resource within the Group and provide research, analysis, and advice to leadership in support of the evaluation and development of the Group’s policies and procedures. As well, ensure that key Group initiatives, programs, projects, processes and policies are prioritized and tracked in a well-integrated manner. Build strong relationships with stakeholders and promote strategic initiatives and programs to stakeholders to gain support for their implementation and rollout.

You will be responsible for developing communications on behalf of the Group or Chief including announcements, speaking points, presentations and correspondence for both external and internal audiences. Stay current on emerging trends and best practices, conduct research and make recommendations for proactive improvements.

What Qualifications Do You Bring?

  • Completion of a University Degree or College Diploma in a related discipline, combined with extensive related work experience, or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed to be equivalent.
  • Significant experience in an advisory role within a large public sector organization
  • Extensive organization and project management experience with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior management and the Executive on large, complex projects
  • Demonstrated experience leading, motivating and influencing cross-functional teams
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with various stakeholders at all levels of an organization for the purpose of meeting corporate objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to provide analytical and research support, and evaluate and recommend changes to policies, programs, processes and practices
  • Knowledge of business administration and change management principles and best practices
  • Excellent facilitation, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Sound organizational, interpersonal, presentation, data analysis, oral and written communication skills
  • Must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to customers and employees
