We are seeking a talented Prophet Modeler to join our Inforce Modeling team within the Enterprise Actuarial Modeling division in Toronto. This role is hybrid, with an eventual requirement of 4 days in the office per week.

You will lead Prophet model development for Pacific Life’s products and business cases, collaborating with teams across Pricing, Valuation, ALM, Hedging, and IT to enhance modeling and reporting capabilities. You will be part of a team of fourteen, including software engineers, data scientists, and fellow actuaries.

How You Will Make an Impact

• Develop models for new and existing annuity, life, and institutional products.
• Perform model development, testing, debugging, and peer reviews; serve as an internal Prophet expert.
• Evaluate and recommend modeling strategies to meet business needs.
• Lead initiatives to improve and expand existing models.
• Collaborate with IT and other teams to simplify modeling processes.
• Guide junior staff on methodology, implementation, and testing.
• Support compliance with Model Risk Management standards.

The Experience You Will Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, computer science, finance, mathematics, or related field.
• 4+ years’ actuarial experience.
• 6+ years’ experience in actuarial modeling and coding.
• FSA and/or FCIA designation.
• Experience with Prophet in pricing, valuation, and ALM contexts.
• Self-starter with collaborative skills and ability to manage long-term projects.
• Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.

• Proficiency in Python, Visual Basic, and SQL.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, JIRA, pipelines, and AWS.
• Advanced Prophet expertise.
