What Is the Opportunity?

The Sr. Analyst, Actuarial and Analytics is an entry-level role responsible for managing operational assignments such as reserving, reinsurance, rate-making, pricing, regulatory filings, planning/forecasting, project management, CAT modeling, ERM, and research. The ideal candidate is a team player eager to learn and develop.

What Will You Do?
  1. Strategy:
    • Participate in strategic projects, with responsibility for specific components.
    • Implement solutions for assigned project parts.
    • Work thoughtfully and efficiently as part of a team.
    • Contribute to cross-unit initiatives as appropriate.
  2. Operational:
    • Update basic actuarial and analytical analyses under supervision.
    • Support team initiatives.
    • Identify and implement process efficiencies.
    • Support initiatives within Canada and across the enterprise as needed.
  3. Communication:
    • Report progress, findings, and results to managers.
    • Develop understanding of actuarial, analytical, and financial discussions, and participate in meetings.
  4. Talent:
    • Assist with onboarding new employees and interns.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
  • University degree in a STEM-related field.
  • Basic PC skills (MS Office) and programming skills (e.g., SQL, SAS).
  • Internship or relevant work experience preferred.
  • Developing leadership skills, self-awareness, and a desire to learn.
  • Understanding of key business drivers such as underwriting, products, reinsurance, distribution, sales, operations, risk control, claims, and financials.
  • Ability to utilize business knowledge for analytic solutions.
  • Begin developing working relationships within the team and sharing ideas proactively.
  • Ability to perform basic data analysis using available tools.
What Is a Must Have?
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
