Senior Actuarial Advisor, Portfolio Management and Analysis

Join us as a Senior Actuarial Advisor, Portfolio Management and Analysis at Desjardins.

Role Overview

We are seeking a candidate to work on various exciting projects in collaboration with senior stakeholders, utilizing data analytics to drive decision-making in a motivating environment focused on development and innovation. The role involves:

  1. Collaborating with stakeholders on analytical projects, leading analysis that combines actuarial and artificial intelligence techniques to produce actionable insights.
  2. Creating and presenting data visualizations, dashboards, and action plans to senior management.
  3. Enhancing analytical effectiveness and establishing best practices within Portfolio Management & Analysis (PM&A).
  4. Building and operationalizing analytical frameworks to understand DGIG’s personal automobile and/or property portfolios.
  5. Extracting, transforming, and loading data from databases, and suggesting improvements for database quality and efficiency.
  6. Monitoring actuarial predictive models and explaining deviations and anomalies.
  7. Coaching junior staff on analytical methodologies and practices.
  8. Planning and managing analytical projects.

Candidate Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or Statistics
  • At least seven years of relevant P&C insurance experience (other qualifications may be considered)
  • Advanced experience with P&C knowledge, Microsoft Office Suite, SAS, VBA, R, Python
  • Successful completion of at least five CAS exams
  • French language skills required for positions in Quebec
  • Proficiency in English for communication and work tools
