Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Acoustic and Vibration Engineer to join our Canadian team in Montreal, Quebec, Mississauga, Ontario, or Calgary, Alberta. You will lead complex acoustics and vibration studies, guiding projects from concept through completion.

The role blends technical leadership, project management, and business development, mentoring junior staff and contributing to growth of the Acoustics and Vibrations practice across transportation, environmental, industrial, and building sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years in acoustics, environmental noise or vibration.
• Experience leading complex multidisciplinary projects.
• Strong noise and vibration modelling, analysis, and mitigation skills.
• Experience with rail, roadway, and transit projects.
• Knowledge of noise and vibration regulations and guidelines.
• Mentoring and developing technical staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead acoustics, noise, and vibration projects for transportation, industrial, and building sectors.
• Provide technical leadership and advise clients on complex challenges.
• Plan field measurement programs, analyses, modelling, and studies.
• Prepare technical reports, specs, impact assessments, and recommendations.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and support project delivery.
• Contribute to business development and growth of the practice.
• Mentor junior staff and ensure quality and safety compliance.
