Qualifications

Make an impact with our Assurance & Accounting team as a Senior Accounting Technician. Responsibilities

  1. Assist with compilation, review, audit, bookkeeping and tax engagements
  2. Prepare and maintain government remittances/filings, accounts receivable, expenses, accounts payable and payroll transactions
  3. Set-up client files, assist with the completion of budgets and complete administrative planning
  4. Perform the month-end and quarter-end close process
  5. Maintain, monitor and reconcile GL accounts including cash, bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accrued liabilities, intercompany and point of sale (POS)/system uploads
  6. Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies and discuss with managers or engagement partners to develop resolutions
  7. Communicate with the government regarding information requests, assessments and installments
  8. Work collaboratively with the client engagement team
  9. Liaise with clients on administrative matters and provide functional advice to other team members
  10. Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary

Skills And Experience

  1. Accounting certificate or bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration (accounting or finance major is preferred)
  2. 3 years of relevant accounting experience
  3. Experience preparing T4s and T5s and knowledge of personal and corporate tax
  4. Working knowledge of accounting processes and principles
  5. Experience working with accounting and tax software
