Axyom.Core’s finance team has an immediate, Canada-based, telecommuting, full-time position for a Senior Accounting Manager. We seek to add a talented individual to our growing team of accounting professionals. The Senior Accounting Manager will work collaboratively with the North American finance team and report to the Financial Controller. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, with a strong foundation in general accounting principles, proficiency with revenue recognition under IFRS 15, and general accounting activities. They should enjoy working in a complex, fast-paced global environment and demonstrate a commitment to accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Revenue Recognition (IFRS 15): Apply knowledge of IFRS 15 to ensure proper revenue recognition practices, analyze documents for performance obligations, perform fair value allocations, evaluate standalone selling price (SSP), determine recognition timing and amounts, and support month-end reporting and audits.
2. Account Reconciliations: Perform monthly account reconciliations across general ledger accounts, investigate discrepancies, maintain documentation, and assist with journal entries.
3. Fixed Assets: Maintain and update fixed asset records, including capitalization, asset movements, audits, and depreciation, ensuring compliance with standards and policies.
4. Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices, verify approvals, code expenses, handle supplier inquiries, reconcile intercompany balances, and ensure policy compliance.
5. General Accounting: Record financial transactions, prepare journal entries, assist with monthly and year-end closings, maintain accruals, and support audits.
6. Cash Disbursements: Oversee electronic payments, check runs, ensure proper documentation and approvals, and manage liquidity and risk.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
• 7-10 years of accounting or financial analysis experience, including financial statement preparation, analysis, and budgeting
• CPA or MBA is a plus
• Proactive, independent worker with initiative
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
• Knowledge of NetSuite is a plus
• Effective verbal and interpersonal communication skills

Salary range: $80,000 - $110,000 CAD
