This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a key role, expand your cross-border expertise, and thrive in a collaborative and fast-paced tech environment.

What You'll Contribute to Our Team :

  1. Lead Our Full-Cycle Accounting: You will be the go-to expert for our end-to-end accounting processes using QuickBooks for both our Canadian and U.S. entities. This includes managing reconciliations, AP / AR, payroll, the general ledger, and ensuring a seamless month and year-end close.
  2. Ensure Seamless Cross-Border Compliance: Your expertise will be key to navigating Canadian and U.S. tax regulations. You will prepare and file GST / HST and sales tax returns and collaborate with our external accountants on year-end filings.
  3. Oversee Accurate Payroll: In partnership with our payroll providers, you will ensure our team is paid accurately and on time, while managing all related journal entries and compliance for vacation, sick time, and statutory holidays.
  4. Deliver Actionable Financial Insights: More than just reporting numbers, you'll use tools like Tableau to create and present clear financial reports, dashboards, and KPIs for leadership. Your analysis will help us spot opportunities for cost savings and support smart, strategic decisions.
  5. Innovate and Improve Processes: We're always looking for better ways to work. You will streamline our accounting workflows, document procedures, and implement strong financial controls to enhance efficiency and consistency across our operations.
  6. Collaborate and Mentor: As a central figure in our financial health, you'll work with different departments, serve as the main contact for auditors, and help train and support our junior staff. We believe that talent is crucial, but teamwork is what truly drives success.

What You Bring to the Table :

  • Education : You have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Credentials : You hold a CPA designation. A QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification is a strong asset.
  • Experience : You bring 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with hands-on expertise in Canadian tax compliance and cross-border financial operations.
  • Tech Savvy : You are proficient with modern accounting software and are considered a power user of QuickBooks and Excel. Experience creating insightful reports and dashboards with Tableau is essential.
  • Personal Strengths : You are known for your approachable demeanor and are highly organized, analytical, and methodical in your approach to work. As a natural problem-solver and excellent communicator, you have a commitment to continuously challenging yourself to improve. You can present financial information clearly and confidently manage multiple priorities.
