for a service-oriented and highly dynamic Senior Accountant (US Tax) to join our firm.

D&H Group LLP is a Vancouver-based firm of Chartered Professional Accountants with over 65 years of recognized excellence in the industry. We serve private enterprises, First Nations organizations, and not-for-profit entities, offering a unique combination of industry-leading insight and personalized service.

The Senior Accountant role involves assisting partners and managers by delivering quality service to meet clients’ goals and understanding their needs efficiently. It also offers leadership opportunities to support and develop junior staff’s professional and technical skills.

Annual salary ranges from $70,000 to $95,000.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interact directly with clients and partners on various engagements
  • Analyze and review financial information
  • Complete working papers and cross-border (Canadian and US) personal and other tax and information returns
  • Provide leadership to junior US tax team members
  • Correspond with clients regarding notices and letters from taxing authorities (e.g., CRA, IRS, US state jurisdictions)
  • Perform ad hoc research on relevant tax legislation

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in cross-border (Canadian and US) tax return preparation
  • Canadian CPA designation or having written the CFE is an asset
  • US CPA designation is an asset

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Proficiency in CaseWare, Tax Prep, MS Office, and CCH ProSystems fx Tax
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills for client rapport and conveying concepts
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Strong understanding of Canadian and US tax legislation
