Senior Accountant [Non-Audit], Privately Held Business Group

As a Senior Accountant [Non-Audit], Privately Held Business Group, your responsibilities will include:

1. Collaborating with colleagues to provide exceptional service to clients across various industries and reporting frameworks.
2. Planning, preparing, and executing financial statement reviews and compilations, including managing budgets and resources.
3. Handling monthly and annual bookkeeping, assisting with payroll and HST calculations, and preparing tax returns.
4. Responding to CRA requests and supervising junior team members through coaching and feedback.
5. Contributing to our reputation as preferred business advisors in key sectors.
6. Performing other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree/diploma or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of public practice accounting or bookkeeping experience for small to medium owner-managed businesses.
• Strong technical accounting expertise and experience in tax return preparation.
• Excellent client service, planning, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and accounting software (e.g., CaseWare, TaxPrep, Sage, QuickBooks).
• Experience mentoring junior staff is an asset.
