Job summary

Position Summary

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing the accounting functions across our Canadian and U.S. operations. This position requires working knowledge of cross-border financial reporting, intercompany transactions, and multi-currency environments. The ideal candidate is hands-on, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for both Canadian and U.S. entities.
  • Maintain the general ledger and oversee month-end close, reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.
  • Manage intercompany transactions, eliminations, and consolidation reporting.
  • Assist with preparation and coordination of audits with external parties.
  • Prepare and file applicable Canadian and U.S. tax filings (GST/HST, sales tax, state tax, etc.) in conjunction with external advisors.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities.
  • Identify process improvements and automation opportunities to increase accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, IT, and member services to ensure financial accuracy and alignment with business goals.
  • Assist with accounting systems implementation, upgrades, or integrations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation preferred.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a multi-entity, cross-border organization.
  • Working knowledge of Canadian and U.S. accounting principles and tax regulations.
  • Experience in the travel, hospitality, or membership-based industry is a strong asset.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Microsoft Dynamics 365, NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage Intacct) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
