Job description

Our client is a public multi-national major insurance / re-insurance company with operations around the world. They are looking to add a Senior Accountant for an initial term of 6 months. There is a very strong potential for this opportunity to either extend longer and/or convert into a full-time role.

Responsibilities:

1. Handle day-to-day operational accounting and analysis/business support.
2. Work with the general ledger and sub-ledgers to record transactions and review work.
3. Participate in month-end and period-end reporting, including the preparation of financial statements.
4. Partner with business units to provide value-added analysis.

Qualifications:

• CPA or in the program, with experience in insurance and/or re-insurance.
• Ability to work in the office 3 days per week in downtown Toronto.
