They're seeking a Senior Accountant to support their dynamic operations and help scale their financial infrastructure in line with creative growth.

The Role

As Senior Accountant, you’ll report to the Accounting Manager and focus primarily on maintaining the general ledger and ensuring the accuracy of financial data. You’ll play a key role in the month-end close process, reconciliations, and reporting, while partnering with departments like publishing, royalties, and operations. You’ll also have the opportunity to help improve internal systems and support ongoing process improvements as the company scales.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the general ledger, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals
• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Prepare and maintain balance sheet and income statement schedules
• Review and reconcile key accounts including cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and intercompany accounts
• Ensure accurate revenue and expense recognition in accordance with US GAAP
• Support the preparation of internal and external financial statements and audit documentation
• Assist in implementing and maintaining internal controls and process documentation
• Collaborate with business units to gather data and resolve accounting issues
• Maintain and update the chart of accounts to reflect evolving business needs
• Participate in system upgrades or transitions (e.g., ERP, royalty platforms), especially in areas impacting the GL
• Assist with compliance efforts including sales tax, 1099 filings, and year-end reporting

What We Need to See (Essential)

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Progressive accounting experience
• Solid understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements
• Familiarity with the music industry or similar creative fields
• Advanced Excel skills and the ability to work with complex data sets
• High attention to detail, integrity, and a solution-focused approach
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with creative and business teams

What We’d Like to See (Bonus)

• CPA certification or active progress toward licensure
• Prior experience with music royalties, publishing accounting, or IP revenue streams
• Experience with financial systems like NetSuite, QuickBooks Enterprise, or royalty accounting software
• Exposure to artist or label accounting environments
