Job summary

Adecco is seeking an Electrical Engineering Lead - Power Distribution to join our client's high-performing engineering team in Calgary, AB. This senior role reports to the Discipline Lead and oversees electrical design and power distribution across complex oil and gas projects from concept to completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering or Applied Science.
• 7+ years facilities engineering/design in oil & gas; 10+ years preferred, including 5+ years in thermal heavy oil.
• Registered P.Eng. with APEGA.
• Strong knowledge of electrical drawings, SLDs, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and EHT isometrics.
• Proficient in ETAP or SKM modeling and advanced electrical calculations.
• Experience with procurement of electrical equipment (motors, MCC, switchgear, VFDs, UPS, EHT panels).
• Knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and industry standards.
• Leadership, mentoring, and team coordination skills.
• Excellent written/oral communication and time management.
• Able to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design for oil & gas facilities from concept to construction.
• Develop design criteria, drawings, specifications, bills of material, and work packages.
• Perform advanced calculations: load flow, voltage drop, cable sizing, EHT, and demand load studies.
• Review and approve ETAP/SKM models, vendor/subcontractor drawings, and technical documentation.
• Supervise electrical design activities for multiple complex units.
• Provide construction support and participate in site visits as needed.
• Mentor junior engineers and review their work for accuracy.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (process, mechanical, civil/structural, instrumentation, piping).
• Manage equipment requisitions: motors, MCC, switchgear, VFDs, UPS, EHT panels, e-houses.
• Ensure compliance with CEC, international codes, safety standards, and project specifications.
• Contribute to cost estimating, proposals, and project schedules.
