Job summary

BDO is seeking a Senior Accountant in Barrie to join our Assurance team. In this replacement role, you will own audit engagements, prepare year-end workpapers and financial statements, and build strong client relationships while working with a collaborative team.

The ideal candidate holds CPA designation (or in progress), has 2–3 years of public accounting audit experience, and demonstrates problem-solving, communication, and teamwork.

Your Opportunity

Our Barrie office is looking for a Senior Accountant to join the Assurance team. This is a replacement role where the successful candidate will own the following responsibilities:

• Effectively and efficiently handle audit tasks independently or within a team environment
• Efficiently prepare year‑end engagements for clients in a variety of industries
• Perform audits on a variety of organizations, prepare working papers and financial statements per regulatory standards
• Build positive working relationships with clients and respond to requests and suggestions
• Communicate with team members regarding progress updates and issues on an ongoing basis
• Engage in staff training and invest in the professional development of the team

Your experience and education

• You have completed your CPA designation or are in the process of completion.
• You have 2-3 years of audit experience in the public accounting industry.
• You enjoy working with high‑growth and dynamic private and publicly‑listed enterprises.
• You are keen to develop further knowledge about the business, assurance and regulatory requirements of publicly‑listed entities and private businesses.
• You value teamwork, client service, and quality in detailed work.
• You display strong problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.

The expected range of compensation for this role is: $62,000 to $96,000.
