Job description

O2E Brands is looking for a Senior Accountant for a 15-month contract to join our growing team! As part of the finance department, you will be responsible for the financial reporting of some of our fastest-growing brands (1-800-GOT-JUNK?, WOW 1 DAY PAINTING, and Shack Shine). You will work alongside a fun and supportive team in a dynamic role where no two days are the same!

HYBRID WORK ENVIRONMENT

Vancouver-based team members work in-office every other week (Tues-Thurs). Core attendance is required from 9 AM - 3 PM on these days to support business priorities.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

  • The Senior Accountant will fulfill a diverse role with many responsibilities, including, but not limited to, the following:
  • Maintain working paper schedules and complete month-end procedures in an accurate and timely manner
  • Review and approve bank reconciliations, general journal entries, and validating with supporting documents prepared by Accountants
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analysis for the month-end meeting with Corporate Controller, FP&A, and CFO
  • Assist with preparation of year-end audit requests
  • Create the year-end financial statements, including updating financial notes and schedules
  • Supervise and provide training to Accountants on full-cycle accounting tasks as needed
  • Review revenue calculations on a semi-monthly basis prior to processing
  • Support team with ad-hoc requests

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

  • Designated CPA (or close to completion)
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience
  • Solid understanding of ASPE and/or US GAAP
  • Detail-oriented
  • Adaptable and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks independently and meet strict deadlines
  • Public practice experience is preferred
  • Proficiency in Netsuite is an asset

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Salary $70,000 - $90,000 per annum (Actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience, and internal parity)
