Senior Accountant – Public Accounting

Victoria, BC | $70,000 to $90,000 | Full-Time | On-Site with Flexibility

Our client is a respected and independently operated public accounting firm based in Victoria, known for its technical strength, approachable leadership, and positive, team-focused culture. They’re currently hiring a Senior Accountant to support their growing client base across tax and compilation engagements.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a few years of experience in public practice who wants to take on more ownership, gain exposure to tax planning work, and be part of a balanced and collaborative firm environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

Prepare and review year-end working paper files and financial statements for compilation clients

File corporate and personal tax returns (T2s and T1s), with a focus on more complex scenarios

Help with tax planning calculations and reconciliation of corporate tax balances (CDA, RDTOH, GRIP)

Contribute to client advisory and support engagements on an as-needed basis

Maintain well-documented files that meet internal and professional standards

Collaborate with partners and managers, while mentoring junior staff as you grow

You’ll Thrive Here If You :

Have 3 to 5 years of public accounting experience and are confident handling files independently

Are currently working toward your CPA or have recently completed it (non-CPAs with strong experience are also welcome)

Know your way around personal and corporate tax returns and enjoy digging into reconciliation and file review

Understand how to manage your time, stay organized, and communicate proactively with clients and teammates

Are open to learning new systems and contributing to a friendly, team-based work culture

Nice to Have (But Not Required) :

Familiarity with preparing T3 trust returns

Experience working with U.S. tax returns

Prior involvement in review engagements or financial statements under ASPE
