Job description

EverGen Infrastructure Corp. (“EverGen”) is a British Columbia based company focused on establishing a renewable natural gas infrastructure platform across Canada. Since incorporation in May 2020, EverGen has executed its strategy of acquiring, developing, owning, operating, and consolidating a portfolio of compost, renewable natural gas, waste-to-energy, and related sustainable infrastructure projects in Canada and other regions of North America.

EverGen currently owns and operates two renewable natural gas (“RNG”) production facilities, Fraser Valley Biogas, located in Abbotsford, British Columbia, and Grow the Energy Circle Ltd. (“GrowTEC”), located in Lethbridge, Alberta, and owns and operates two composting facilities, Pacific Coast Renewables, located in Abbotsford, British Columbia, and Sea to Sky Soils, located in Pemberton, British Columbia.

Job Description :

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Accounting & Finance Team at EverGen Infrastructure Corp. They will play a key role in the preparation of quarterly financial reports, maintaining compliance with IFRS, and monthly internal reporting. This role involves working closely with management and external auditors, and experience in public company reporting is desired. The candidate will also be required to assist with some of the operational accounting. The individual should be proactive, analytical, and detail-oriented, while being able to meet deadlines.

Main responsibilities :

• Prepare consolidated Monthly report for Management (actual v budget)
• Prepare Quarterly Consolidation and Variance Analysis file
• Prepare and assist with Quarterly reconciliations
• Prepare Quarterly Financial Statements
• Support preparation of MD&A
• Support the year-end audit process
• Perform full cycle accounting with the intention that the candidate moves to more of an oversight role for some of these areas once additional staff member is hired :
• Preparing monthly reports for certain sites (actuals v budget)
• Liaising with site general managers
• Prepare GST / PST returns
• Monthly bank reconciliations

Other responsibilities :

• Ensure compliance with company policies while carrying out daily processes and controls accurately and on time
• Identify opportunities for efficiencies and improvements in financial reporting and full cycle accounting processes
• Support the Accounting & Finance Team and perform other duties as required

Required education / experience :

• CPA designation or equivalent
• 2-3 years in role of similar capacity
• Experience of financial reporting
• Experience with using QuickBooks Online a nice to have

Knowledge, skills and abilities :

• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint)
• Ability to work in a team and independently with minimum supervision
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
