Job summary

Orion Digital, a dual-listed public company, seeks an accounting professional to own fund accounting, IFRS reporting, and the full-cycle close. You will work closely with the Controller and Finance Manager across private funds, investments, and treasury activities, with opportunities to lead the path toward Finance Manager.

You will gain hands-on audit experience across corporate and fund audits, and contribute to a lean, high-accountability finance team supporting a growth-oriented

Qualifications

• CPA designation (or final stages)
• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience
• Big 4 or national-firm background required
• IFRS foundation with financial instruments, fund accounting, or investment structures is a plus
• External audit experience - preparation and coordination
• Strong Excel and ERP skills; NetSuite experience is an asset
• High ownership mentality and proactive issue resolution
• Interest in process improvement in a lean, fast-moving environment

Responsibilities

• Perform journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting papers for monthly and quarterly close
• Support IFRS reporting and prepare internal/external reporting packages
• Conduct variance analysis and investigate discrepancies
• Assist with consolidation across multiple entities and investment structures
• Handle accounting across accruals, investments, loans, leases, and treasury activities
• Manage fund accounting reconciliations and reporting for the fund
• Coordinate audit schedules and provide audit-ready working papers
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accurate financial outputs and process improvements

Compensation: $85,000 - $95,000 CAD base + performance bonus + equity

About The Role

This is a first or second industry move for someone who came up through Big 4 and wants real accounting ownership - not another rotation.

You'll work directly with the Controller and Finance Manager across fund accounting, IFRS reporting, full-cycle close, and external audit for Orion Digital's asset management entity. The scope is broad by design: financial instruments, fund reconciliations, consolidations, treasury-related accounting, and operational finance - all within a dual-listed public company running a lean, high-accountability team.

Fund accounting & audit

• Fund accounting reconciliations and reporting processes for IntelligentInvesting Securities Inc
• Audit support schedules and coordination with external auditors across fund and corporate audits
• Audit-ready working papers and supporting documentation maintained throughout the year

Process & operations

• Cross-functional coordination to ensure accounting outputs reflect business activity accurately
• Identification and execution of workflow and reconciliation improvements
• Contribution to automation and process improvement initiatives across Finance systems

What you bring

• CPA designated (or final stages)

• You're on a clear track toward the Finance Manager role
