We are seeking talented individuals to join our thriving community. Dream’s Accounting team is currently hiring a Senior Accountant to support our investment activities in Toronto-based assets.

What will you do as a Senior Accountant?

Below are some of the primary responsibilities of this role:

  • Lead the full accounting cycle (consolidated under IFRS) for multiple development projects;
  • Prepare and review internal and external partner reports for various buildings and assets;
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with other departments and external partners;
  • Act as the lead audit contact for project-level audits in accordance with IFRS and ASPE;
  • Ensure timely month-end closes, including recording all transactions and setting up accruals;
  • Assist with construction draw and treasury processes to facilitate development payments;
  • Prepare consolidating and eliminating entries at different organizational levels;
  • Supervise junior staff as needed;
  • Collaborate on periodic compliance reporting to lenders, government, and partners (training provided).

What type of experience is required?

We would like you to bring the following:

  • In-progress or completed CPA designation;
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience;
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge of IFRS and ASPE;
  • Experience in audit and/or the real estate industry is an asset;
  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage work independently;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel;
  • Strong communication and organizational skills;
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and self-review work;
  • Willingness to reflect on and improve existing processes.

Bonus if you have experience in the following areas:

  • Experience with JD Edwards system.
