Position : Senior Accountant

Responsibilities :

  • Prepare and review working paper files for review and audit engagements
  • Assist with the preparation of Notice to Reader (NTR), corporate, and personal tax returns
  • Liaise directly with clients to gather financial information and respond to inquiries
  • Ensure financial statements comply with accounting standards and internal quality control
  • Support junior staff through mentorship and technical guidance
  • Stay current with relevant accounting and tax regulations to ensure compliance

Skills and Experience :

  • Accounting Proficiency : Solid understanding of Canadian accounting and tax standards, with experience preparing financial statements and tax filings.
  • Client-Facing Communication : Strong interpersonal and written communication skills for interacting with clients and colleagues.
  • Organizational Skills : Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines efficiently.
  • Experience : Minimum of 3-5 years in a public accounting firm, with demonstrated experience in review and audit files.
  • Education : CPA designation or CPA in progress preferred; relevant post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance required.

Extra Consideration will be given to those who have experience with :

  • CaseWare, TaxPrep, bookkeeping, audit and assurance, NTR, compilation engagements, personal and corporate tax filings.
