We are seeking talented individuals to join our thriving community. The Dream Accounting team is currently hiring a Senior Accountant to support our investment in Toronto-based assets.

What will you do as a Senior Accountant?

Below are some primary responsibilities of this role:

  • Lead the full accounting cycle (consolidated under IFRS) for multiple development projects;
  • Prepare and review internal and external partner reporting for various buildings and assets;
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with other departments and external partners;
  • Act as the lead audit point of contact for project-level audits (in accordance with IFRS / ASPE);
  • Ensure timely month-end close, recording all relevant transactions, including setting up monthly accruals;
  • Assist with construction draw and treasury processes to facilitate payment of development costs;
  • Prepare consolidating and eliminating entries at different organizational levels;
  • Supervise junior staff as needed;
  • Contribute to periodic compliance reporting to lenders and government partners (training provided);
  • Participate in various special projects.

What type of experience is required?

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Completed (or near completion) of CPA designation;
  • At least 3 years of accounting experience;
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge of IFRS and ASPE;
  • Experience in audit and/or the real estate industry is an asset;
  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage work independently;
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel;
  • Strong communication and organizational skills;
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively;
  • Self-review skills and a proactive approach to process improvements.

Bonus if you have experience in the following areas:

  • Experience with JD Edwards system is an asset.
