At March of Dimes, we?re looking for a Senior Accountant who thrives on precision, collaboration, and purpose. This is your opportunity to play a pivotal role in strengthening financial operations that support life-changing programs across Canada.You?ll lead key accounting functions?from journal entries and reconciliations to budgeting and funder reporting?ensuring our financial data is accurate, insightful, and audit-ready. You?ll also help shape strategic decisions by preparing financial materials for senior leadership and supporting cross-functional teams.*Financial Reporting & Month-End Close*Prepare journal entries for shared services (Finance, IT, HR, Facilities), including accruals and reclassifications.Reconcile balance sheet accounts and validate financial activity for monthly and quarterly closes.Manage internal expense reallocations using shared cost models.Deliver monthly reports and variance analyses to Finance leadership.*Budgeting & Forecasting*Partner with the Manager to produce management reports and forecasting updates.Provide data-driven insights to support departmental budgeting and planning.Support internal service allocation models and stakeholder communications.*Funder & Ad Hoc Reporting*Prepare financial reports for external funders, ensuring compliance and timeliness.Respond to ad hoc requests for financial data and analysis.Assist in creating Finance Committee materials, including visual and written content.*Sales Tax, Investments & Capital Assets*Complete HST/QST reconciliations and remittances.Maintain the capital asset subledger and record monthly amortization.Prepare investment entries*Audit & Compliance*Prepare year-end working papers and reconciliations for shared services, tax, investments, and assets.Ensure compliance with Canadian ASNPO standards and internal policies.*Process Improvement & Systems*Drive improvements in month-end close, reporting workflows, and internal controls.Maintain up-to-date financial procedures and documentation.*Responsibilities** 3?5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a not-for-profit or multi-cost center environment.* Strong background in financial accounting, budgeting, and variance analysis.* Experience with capital asset accounting, sales tax compliance, and funder reporting.* Proven ability to prepare audit-ready working papers.*Technical Skills** Advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas).* Proficiency in ERP systems (Microsoft D365 or Dynamics GP) and reporting tools (Prophix) would be plus.* Familiarity with payroll/HCMS systems like Dayforce is a plus.*Qualifications and experience** Bachelor?s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.* CPA designation or active enrollment in the CPA program.*Important Details** Hybrid work arrangement (our office is located at 99 Duncan Mills Rd, Toronto)*How to apply** Please submit your cover letter and resume by *August 4, 2025.**Why You?ll Love This Role*You?re detail-oriented and analytical, with
