We are seeking talented individuals to join our thriving community. Dream’s Accounting team is currently hiring a Senior Accountant to support our investment in Toronto-based assets.

What will you do as a Senior Accountant?

Below are some primary responsibilities of this role:

  • Lead the full accounting cycle (consolidated under IFRS) for multiple development projects;
  • Prepare and review internal/external reporting for various buildings/assets;
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with other departments and external partners;
  • Act as the main audit contact for project-level audits (IFRS / ASPE);
  • Ensure timely month-end close, recording all transactions including accruals;
  • Assist with construction draw and treasury processes to facilitate payments;
  • Prepare consolidating and eliminating entries at different organizational levels;
  • Supervise junior staff as needed;
  • Participate in compliance reporting to lenders, government, and partners (training provided);
  • Contribute to various special projects.

What experience is required?

We prefer candidates with:

  • Near completion of CPA designation;
  • At least 3 years of accounting experience;
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and ASPE;
  • Experience in audit or real estate industry is a plus;
  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage work independently;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel;
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills;
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritization abilities;
  • Self-review skills and a proactive approach to process improvement.

Bonus if you have experience with:

  • JD Edwards system.
