Mission

The Senior Accountant - Aggregates, reporting to the Subsidiary Controller, will assist the General Manager of Aggregates with financial reporting and the management of financial transactions related to the Aggregate Activity.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $90,000-$100,000 CAD per year, with final compensation based on experience and skills.

Main Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise a team of approximately three accountants, clerks, and administrative staff.
• Oversee financial transactions related to all Aggregate Production and Sales activities.
• Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for applications like JWS and JDE.
• Ensure proper coding and allocation of financial transactions for the Aggregate business units.
• Review transactions for compliance with standards and internal controls.
• Assist in preparing annual budgets.
• Contribute to monthly financial statements and reports.
• Maintain understanding of royalty agreements and monitor their execution.
• Lead and reconcile annual inventory counts for all Aggregate sources.
• Perform ad hoc duties as assigned.

Experience and Knowledge

• CPA or working towards CPA designation.
• At least 5 years of accounting experience, with 3 years in a senior role, preferably in construction or aggregates.
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant applications like JWS and JDE.
