Qualifications

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join BrokerLink in our Calgary, AB office on a permanent full-time basis.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements, supporting schedules, and reports.
  • Support the financial reporting team during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end processes.
  • Work on preliminary and final purchase price calculations for acquisitions and prepare related journal entries.
  • Review acquisition balances, movements, and reconciliations.
  • Analyze acquisition income statements, reconcile variances, and prepare explanations.
  • Reconcile bank and sub-ledger accounts.
  • Prepare regulatory and government reports (RIBO, GST/HST, sales taxes, quarterly surveys, etc.).
  • Collaborate with teams to streamline workflows, automate tasks, and improve financial data quality.
  • Assist team members with daily questions and ad-hoc projects.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Equivalent skills and experience are welcome to apply.
  • Minimum 5+ years in accounting, financial reporting, or auditing, preferably with public company experience.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, SEC regulations, and accounting standards.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills, with a history of accurate, timely financial reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with professionalism.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating and presenting complex financial data clearly.
