We offer a bright, modern work environment in an office building in the east end of Ottawa.The location offers excellent east-west highway access, and is also well situated for clients and staff located in the south end of Ottawa.We are seeking to add a motivated senior accountant with public accounting and tax experience to join our team.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Preparation of compilation engagements, including required accounting
• Preparation of corporate and personal income tax returns
• Review and confirm tax assessments and reassessments
• Communicate with tax authorities to resolve issues
• Supervise and train junior staff, if level of experience dictates

Candidates should possess the following:

• Excellent analytical and technical skills
• Well organized and able to manage multiple client responsibilities concurrently
• Ability to work independently or with limited supervision
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Team oriented outlook
• Experience with CaseWare would be helpful, but is not required
• Bilingualism is an asset, but not a necessity

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of public accounting experience in Canada, including preparation of T1 and T2 tax returns
• Possess post-secondary diploma or business degree
• CPA designation or enrolment in CPA program is an asset

Ability to commute:

• Commute to office in east Ottawa, or plan to relocate before starting work
• Once trained, opportunity to work remotely on hybrid basis
