Senior Accountant
Job Details

POSITION: SENIOR ACCOUNTANT IN CPA FIRM
LOCATION: EAST END OF OTTAWA
SALARY: BASED UPON EXPERIENCE
JOB TYPE: PERMANENT

Accountabilities and Responsibilities
  1. Preparation of financial statements and tax returns in a variety of small and medium size businesses
  2. Preparation of corporate and personal tax returns (T1, T2s, T3s, GST/HST/TVQ)
  3. Notice to readers and review engagements
  4. Effective communication with our clients, government agencies, management and staff
  5. Providing leadership and mentoring a team of staff accountants
  6. Identify new business opportunities with existing clients
Requirements
  1. Previous experience in a CPA Firm
  2. Experience with full-cycle computerized programs such as QuickBooks
  3. Ability to prioritize workloads and the flexibility to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  4. Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail and accuracy
  5. Superior written and verbal communication skills
  6. Ability to initiate and develop professional relations with clientele
  7. Must hold a professional accounting designation or worked for a CPA firm for more than 5 years
Assets
  1. Bilingual in English and French is considered a strong asset
  2. Minimum of 5 years Canadian relevant midsize public practice experience related to Private Enterprise
