Account Executive / Technical Recruiter / Sales Specialist

LeverageTek is actively seeking a Senior Accountant for a 6 month contract opportunity with its Ottawa-based customer.

Key Tasks

• Perform general ledger reconciliations, including fixed assets, accrued liabilities, and intercompany accounts
• Tasked with general accounting cleanup, account reconciliations (many never done before), month-end close, fixing legacy issues.
• Identify and resolve data discrepancies and ensure financial statement accuracy
• Clean and organize supporting financial records and documentation
• Support the month-end close process and preparation of journal entries
• Analyze and correct accounting entries, with full understanding of their impact on financial statements
• Support the SSC leadership with reporting and ad hoc financial tasks
• Rolling up sleeves, detailed investigative (“detective”) work, reconstructing fixed asset listings from up to 10 years’ data, populating Excel, massive data / tour work.

Key Qualifications

• Up to 7 years of experience supporting complex general ledger reconciliations, with a focus on fixed assets and other key balance sheet accounts
• Must have a strong foundation in accounting principles and experience working in a dynamic, fast-changing environment
• Must have experience supporting the month-end close process and preparation of journal entries

Qualifications

• Progressive accounting experience, with strong reconciliation and
• GL experience
• Solid understanding of core accounting principles and financial reporting
• Experience supporting month-end close and reporting processes
• Strong grasp of how balance sheet adjustments affect financial statements
• Experience with ERP systems; Deltek Vision is an asset
• CPA designation is a plus, but not required
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently in an ambiguous environment
• Confident working with senior people
