We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team at BrokerLink, based in one of our offices in Alberta, Ontario, or Atlantic regions, on a permanent full-time basis.

What the Role Entails:

  1. Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements, supporting schedules, and other reporting requirements.
  2. Support the Financial Reporting team during month, quarter, and year-end closing processes.
  3. Work on preliminary and final purchase price calculations for new acquisitions and prepare purchase journal entries.
  4. Review opening and final acquisition balances, monthly movements, and final reconciliations for various acquisitions.
  5. Analyze monthly acquisition income statements, reconcile changes, and prepare variance explanations.
  6. Reconcile bank accounts and sub-ledger accounts.
  7. Prepare regulatory and government reports (RIBO, GST & HST, sales taxes, quarterly surveys, etc.).
  8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and improve the quality and reliability of financial information.
  9. Assist team members with their day-to-day questions.
  10. Complete other tasks as assigned and support ad-hoc reporting and accounting projects as needed.

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA)
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, or auditing, with a preference for public company experience
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, SEC regulations, and financial accounting standards
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record of delivering accurate and timely financial information
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and present complex financial information clearly
