About the Opportunity
Accounting
- Performs full cycle accounting duties including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger
- Reconciliation and analysis of monthly G/L accounts, income statement and balance sheet
- Bank reconciliations, reporting, review budgeting and special projects with management
- Proactively consults with team and resolves issues as required
- Oversees inventory counts
- Performs online banking
- Prepares HST returns, EHT and WSIB remittances and financial statements
- Complies with tax filing requirements and all other deadlines
- Prepares bi-weekly payroll including generating ROEs, Year-end T slips and T2200
- Tracks staff vacation, sick and lieu time
- Assists in the office as required for the smooth operation of the business, includes answering incoming calls
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality regarding company matters
- Prepares year-end working papers for external auditor and conducts year-end close process to ensure completeness, accuracy and cohesiveness of information
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Develop and complete regular analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual financial results; segregate by business line; compare to budget, etc.
- Prepare P&L and capital budgetary planning and costs management in alignment with company's strategic plan
- Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of financial and management reporting
- Prepare annual and long-term financial business plans and forecasts
Other Duties
- Improve processes and work directly with the leadership team
About You
- CPA designation (completed or in progress)
- 5 years of relevant accounting experience
- Proficient in full-cycle accounting
- Experience in small-to-mid-sized companies, with a hands-on approach and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities
- Industry experience with inventory or tangible goods
- Familiarity with systems such as SAP and MS 365
Salary Range
$85,000 - $95,000/year
