The Position

We are currently seeking an Accounting Senior Specialist, Fixed Assets. The primary responsibilities for this role include daily cash flow forecasting, preparation of daily bank deposits and cash application. Maintenance of employee corporate card program and employee purchases. The incumbent will also be required to assist with various tasks related to general accounting, accounts payable and receivable, as well as the month end close, and quarterly and annual audits.

What you\'re responsible for
  • Manage fixed assets, process fixed asset invoices and perform semi-annual fixed asset audit
  • Coordinate physical inventory count and reconciliation for reporting
  • Back up for daily bank deposit, and cash flow statement
  • Back up for Preparing Daily Bank Reconciliation, Prepare Month End Bank Reconciliation
  • Clear employee purchases on accountant, executive sales account; Investigate any discrepancies in employee purchase account
  • Prepare of month end journal entries, accruals, ITC calculation and VAT netting
  • General Ledger account reconciliations
  • Clear postings that were placed in the suspense account
  • Create separate journal entries to process Visa Service charges
  • Process checks requisitions for Refunds
  • Assist and provide backup for HQ Financial Reports including FSCS (Financial Self Control System), GCPS (Global Consolidated Package)
  • Main person for ICMS (Internal Control Management), and FHC (Financial Health Check) Fixed asset related reporting
  • Assist in external tax audits
  • Provide research-based support to other departments on VAT and PST related inquiries
  • Liaison with the external auditor and follow-up items on PBC list (prepared by client)
  • Support and provide analysis for the Risk Management Team with accounting related items
  • Cooperate with Operating teams for the accounting process review and implementation as requested
  • General Ledger Reconciliations, analysis and reporting as required by management and client
  • Assist in ad-hoc projects as required
To join our team
  • University degree, Business Administration, Commerce or Accounting preferred
  • Enrolling in the CPA program is desirable
  • Experience with an ERP system an asset (preferably SAP) preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to think analytically, communicate complex issues
  • Ability to learn and adopt the process quickly
  • 4+ years\' experience in an accounting role or relevant experience preferred
