Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.
- Lead assurance and notice-to-reader engagements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Manage the preparation of all types of engagements, including financial statements and related filings.
- Prepare corporate tax returns connected with financial statement preparation.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff, fostering professional growth and development.
- Collaborate with partners, managers, and clients to deliver accurate financial insights and recommendations.
- Handle ad hoc accounting and advisory tasks to support client needs.
- Ensure deadlines are met while maintaining the highest level of accuracy and quality in reporting.
Skills and Experience
- Accounting Expertise : Strong background in preparing and reviewing financial statements, with knowledge of Canadian accounting standards.
- Leadership : Ability to effectively supervise and mentor junior staff while managing multiple priorities.
- Communication & Collaboration : A team player comfortable working with all levels of the organization, with excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Organization : Proven ability to set priorities, stay organized, and work independently with minimal guidance.
- Experience : Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a public accounting firm.
- Education : CPA designation (or in final stages of completion) required.
