Senior Accountant
Job description
Minimum Requirements:
- 5 years of experience using accounting principles and public sector accounting standards (or equivalent).
- Strong financial reporting experience ensuring accuracy and reliability of financial statements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to manage accounting figures/financial records accurately.
- 5+ years of research, analysis, and problem-solving experience.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Nice to Have:
- 5 years of experience with public sector accounting (or comparable environments).
- Strong customer service skills and ethics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform month-end close procedures and prepare reconciliations.
- Assist with quarterly and annual audit processes as needed.
- Provide guidance to the accounting department and suggest areas for improvement.
- Ensure all accounting tasks align with company policies, procedures, and strategies.
- Prepare financial reports in accordance with appropriate accounting standards.
- Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank accounts.
- Prepare internal review documents as needed.
- Reconcile General Ledger (GL) Balance Sheet accounts.
- Deliver timely and accurate management reports.
- Support management on special projects as required.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
