Title:Senior Accountant

Job Overview

Reporting to the Accounting Manager as theSenior Accountantyou are responsible for providing accounting and financial expertise to support the business units in the Northern Alberta region. You also review financial statements,balance sheet reconciliations, other accounting related reports, and prepare project reports in an accurate and timely manner.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Collaborating with the development team to prepare, analyze, access project budgets and forecasts.
• Forecasting and administering recoveries on over expenditures. Reconciling costs for major infrastructure improvements. Providing accounting support for cost share agreements.
• Managing annual cost to complete process and the cost of sales adjustments.
• Preparing joint venture reports and providing accounting support for partner inquiries.
• Maintaining job estimates and project budgets in the ERP system, and performing job costing analyses.
• Managing cash flow for joint venture bank accounts and mortgage facilities.
• Reviewing quarterly and annual financial statements, including reviewing of reconciliations and ongoing discussions with business units.
• Supporting the corporate finance team. Preparing mortgage draw reports and request draws, ensuring compliance with loan terms and conditions.
• Providing support to the corporate accounting team as required.
• Assisting the implementation of new software.
• Preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and support calculations.
• Assisting in evaluating current accounting processes and reporting and providing recommendations for improvements.

Essential Requirements

• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of full cycle accounting experience.
• Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
• Proficient in MicrosoftOfficePrograms(Outlook,Word,Excel, Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint)and accounting software (NewStar) or similar.

Work Conditions
