Summary

We’re looking for a highly motivated Senior Accountant with a CPA designation (or in progress) and a strong foundation in homebuilding or construction accounting. This role will focus on leadership within the accounting team, operational excellence, and driving financial clarity and accuracy across the company.

The Opportunity

You will work directly with the Controller and CFO, with the opportunity to take ownership of core financial processes and contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial strategy. This is a key leadership role focused on supporting corporate accounting functions while mentoring team members and building scalable processes.

What You’ll Work On

  • Month-end and year-end close processes
  • Budgeting, financial modelling and forecasting (Big 4 + internal models)
  • Reviewing and completing financial statements
  • Job costing, variance analysis, and reconciliations
  • Supporting AP/AR and cash flow management
  • Financial analysis and reporting
  • Creating and improving accounting processes and internal controls
  • Supporting software integrations (HomeFront, Sage, Sharepoint, etc)
  • Providing mentorship and support to junior accounting staff
  • Assisting in process improvements across departments

What You’ll Bring

  • CPA designation (or in progress and highly experienced)
  • Minimum 1-2 years in a similar role; homebuilding or construction industry experience is preferred
  • Strong communicator who enjoys collaboration and working cross-functionally
  • Builder mindset: proactive, flexible, and able to pivot when needed
  • Experience with HomeFront (or similar Construction ERP), Sage, and Excel
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Interest in team mentorship and coaching
