Your role

• Compilation and review of client information and working paper file preparation
• Year-end planning for various clients
• Supervising engagements and related tax filings
• Identifying and resolving engagement issues
• Training and mentoring junior staff on engagements
• Preparation of complex Compilation and Review Engagement reports
• Ensuring the clients’ satisfaction with the firm’s services
• Providing timely, high quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations
• Identifying and cultivating new service or tax planning opportunities for client

What you bring to the table

• A college or university degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting or a similar finance role
• CPA designation or in progress would be considered a strong asset
• Experience managing large engagements
• In-depth working knowledge of accounting and tax
• Advanced accounting, tax, and software knowledge, i.e.: Tax Prep, CaseWare, Sage and QuickBooks
• Advanced working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• As a Leader, you are an active listener, empathetic, and can share clear messages and make complex ideas easy to understand. You can inspire and you are flexible to the needs of others
• Demonstrated team-building skills
• Highly analytical and accurate, attention to detail is critical to this role
• Strong time-management abilities and self-motivation to work independently in a high-volume work environment.
• Demonstrates the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively and efficiently
• A passion for client service
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A willingness to continually expand one’s professional skill set, learn on the job, take on additional responsibilities as required and respond to and thrive in a dynamic work environment
• Candidates must be flexible to work overtime during peak business periods. Any overtime worked will be paid or recorded as in-lieu time to be taken later

Where you’ll work: Collingwood, ON. This role is a hybrid position. Candidates must be available to work for a minimum 2 days a week at the Collingwood, Ontario, office.

Job type: Permanent, Full-time. Your schedule: Monday to Friday. Salary range: $60,000 - $90,000 (Some flexibility based on the level of experience)
