The Opportunity

Portland Tractor Inc. is looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Langley, British Columbia. As the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for full-cycle accounting, working closely with a growing Finance team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

As the Senior Accountant, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly income statements and balance sheets for multiple entities in Canada and the US
  • Prepare daily and monthly KPI reports, prepare quarterly and year-end working papers
  • Prepare account reconciliations and month-end adjusting journal entries
  • Prepare cheque, ACH, and wire transfers
  • Classify, code, and summarize financial data into accurate, and up-to-date financial records
  • Prepare provincial and state tax filings
  • Resolve issues within the ERP system
  • Supervise and train accountants and administrators

Required Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field such as business, finance or accounting
  • CPA designation
  • At least three to five years of accounting work experience, preferably in a large organization
  • Experience using Sage 100 or a similar ERP system is a strong asset
  • Strong organization skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

The base pay range for this role is: $70,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on experience.

This is an onsite role based in Langley, British Columbia.
