Job Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Vancouver, B.C., Canada (On-site).

Their innovative, low-impact, in-vessel systems have been developed over a decade of research and development, offering unparalleled opportunities for both municipalities and private waste services to take more control, increase efficiency, and improve the economic impact of their waste handling infrastructure.

Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage the entire accounting process in the back office and help build a team. Our client is a fast-growing organization in the technology sector, and the Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting the company\'s continued growth.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the entire accounting process, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger
  • Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements and reports
  • Manage cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts
  • Prepare and file all tax returns, including GST/HST, payroll, and corporate income tax returns
  • Manage the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure the integrity of the company\'s financial reporting
  • Train and mentor accounting staff as needed
  • Participate in special projects as assigned
Requirements
  • CPA designation is required
  • 5-8 years of overall accounting experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with CPA
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage or Xero
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in a small to medium-sized business environment is preferred
