Our client is a manufacturing company seeking a Senior Accountant responsible for bank reconciliations, Canadian and U.S. tax filings, financial statement preparation, and supporting month-end activities and the Accounting Manager. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

About the Opportunity?

  • Prepare consolidated financial statements: income statement, balance sheet, and cash flows.
  • Generate internal management reports and analysis, including budget comparisons and variance analysis.
  • Manage chart of accounts for various entities and subsidiaries.
  • Lead month-end close processes and assist with financial statements and schedules for month, quarter, and year-end.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, ensuring all payments and deposits are current.
  • File Canadian and U.S. sales taxes and other regulatory requirements timely.
  • Create financial and other reports.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including IFRS 16 lease schedules, capital assets, prepaids, loans, and accruals.
  • Prepare journal entries with supporting documentation.
  • Identify discrepancies, analyze data, and reconcile accounts.
  • Assist accounts receivable with invoicing, credit notes, rebates, and customer activities.
  • Collaborate across departments and with external accountants.
  • Guide accounts payable and other teams on postings and coding.
  • Help develop and implement improved accounting policies and procedures.
  • Perform ad-hoc duties as needed.

About You?

  • CPA designation or CFE completion.
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or relevant experience.
  • Minimum 3 years full-cycle accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably Business Central.
  • Knowledge of financial statement prep, AR, AP, G/L, and bank reconciliations.
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Salary Range: $90,000/year
