Walmart Canada is hiring a Self-Checkout Attendant to support a positive shopping experience by assisting customers at the self-service area and ensuring smooth transactions.

You will maintain clean and organized checkout spaces, promote Walmart programs, assist customers with self-checkout, respond to EAS alerts, handle Scan & Go equipment, and work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Self Checkout Area Standards: keep area clean, safe, organized and free of debris.
• Promote Walmart programs and initiatives, including credit services and protection plans.
• Assist customers at self-checkout, help them complete transactions, and escalate issues when needed to the Customer Service Manager.
• Respond to EAS alerts and accurately complete the Failure to Deactivate log.
• Manage Scan & Go equipment and return scanners to storage after use.
• Open to working a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

What You'll Do

• Maintain Self Checkout Area Standards: Keeps a clean, safe, and organized self checkout area, ensuring it remains free of fixtures, unnecessary debris, foreign objects, and spills.
• Promote Walmart Programs and Initiatives: Supports the promotion of company sponsored programs, including credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable initiatives.
• Support Customers at Self Checkout: Helps customers use self checkout quickly and confidently by offering assistance when needed, monitoring activity, and completing required checks. Escalates cash or technical issues to the Customer Service Manager.
• Respond to EAS Alerts: Responds to EAS alarms in accordance with procedures and accurately completes the Failure to Deactivate log.
• Manage Scan & Go Equipment: Ensures Scan & Go scanners are returned to their designated storage locations after use.
• Flexibility: Open to working a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.

Physical Demands

• Standing for extended periods, bending, and lifting inventory or supplies weighing up to 20 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Performs repetitive tasks such as stocking, zoning, and organizing products with attention to detail.

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts from $18.40/hour.
