Walmart Canada Corp. is seeking a Self-Checkout Attendant at our Uxbridge, ON location to assist customers at the self-checkout area and maintain area standards. You will help shoppers complete transactions, promote Walmart programs, and keep equipment organized and secure.

The role involves responding to EAS alerts, managing Scan & Go equipment, and working a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The starting pay is $17.75 CAD per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a clean, safe, and organized self checkout area, ensuring it remains free of fixtures, unnecessary debris, foreign objects, and spills.
  • Supports the promotion of company sponsored programs, including credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable initiatives, when applicable.
  • Helps customers use self checkout quickly and confidently by offering assistance, monitoring activity, and completing required checks; escalates cash or technical issues to the Customer Service Manager.
  • Responds to EAS alarms in accordance with procedures and accurately completes the “Failure to Deactivate” log.
  • Ensures Scan & Go scanners are returned to their designated storage locations after use.
  • Be open to working a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.

What you’ll do


  • Maintain Self Checkout Area Standards Maintains a clean, safe, and organized self checkout area, ensuring it remains free of fixtures, unnecessary debris, foreign objects, and spills.

  • Promote Walmart Programs and Initiatives Supports the promotion of company sponsored programs, including credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable initiatives, when applicable.

  • Support Customers at Self Checkout Helps customers use self checkout quickly and confidently by offering assistance when needed, monitoring activity, and completing required checks. Clearly explain any interventions in a friendly, reassuring way and elevate cash or technical issues to the Customer Service Manager.

  • Respond to EAS Alerts and Complete Documentation Responds to EAS alarms in accordance with procedures and accurately completes the “Failure to Deactivate” log.

  • Manage Scan & Go Equipment Ensures Scan & Go scanners are returned to their designated storage locations after use.

  • Flexibility (Availability/Work Schedule) Be open to working a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs. Your adaptability helps ensure the store runs smoothly and customers receive consistent, high-quality service.

  • Physical Demands: Performs physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, bending, and lifting inventory, equipment, or supplies weighing up to 20 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs. Performs repetitive tasks such as stocking, zoning, and organizing products with attention to detail and consistency to uphold store standards.

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts from $17.75.
