Job description

Hire Standard is recruiting a Seed Laboratory Technician on behalf of a local production facility.

Processing treated seed samples on the plant floor. Training will be provided; however, experience with sample processing is helpful. QA role & seed sampling experience helpful.
Must be comfortable working on computers with programs such as Excel and Microsoft Outlook.
This is a fixed-term position starting in August until April 2026


Responsibilities May Include, but are not limited to:

  • Must be comfortable working on computers with programs such as Excel and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Perform tasks associated with harvest, conditioning, and treating/packaging
  • Conditioning activities such as cleaning and sizing, treating and packaging, palletizing, wrapping and sampling
  • Compliance with Work Instructions and Quality Plan requirements
  • Complete and maintain appropriate records, documents, or reports, such as quality, safety, grower, and inventory records.


Requirements:

  • Two-year agricultural diploma or related field of study
  • Experience working with identifying and grading seeds
  • Excellent Computer Skills
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
  • Experience in light industrial, manufacturing, seed cleaning and handling, or warehouse.
  • High School Diploma is REQUIRED
  • Knowledge of production agriculture
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Ability to adjust quickly to changing conditions and anticipate needs
  • Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision
  • Willingness to work both outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet, dry, and dusty conditions
  • Ability to climb and/or work in elevated areas; standing and sitting for extended periods.
  • Position may involve repetitive motion and/or repetitive lifting up to 50 lbs

We Offer:

  • $23/hour + shift differential
  • 40 hours per week, with opportunities for occasional overtime
  • 2 Week Rotating Shifts: Morning 7:00 am-3:30 pm and Afternoon 3:00 pm-11:30 pm
  • Team-based work environment
