YUASNI TIPI FAMILY TREATMENT CENTRE is seeking a casual Security Worker to ensure safety for families, staff and property at the Inpatient Treatment Centre in Prince Albert, SK. The role involves monitoring, patrols, incident reporting, and adherence to PAGC policies.

Fluency in English is required; knowledge of a First Nations language and Indigenous culture is an asset. A Saskatchewan driver’s license and security certification are required. Training and community activities may be included.

Qualifications

  • Fluency in English required; fluency in a First Nations language in the Prince Albert Grand Council area is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be familiar with video monitoring technology and safety protocols.
  • Must be able to work with minimum supervision and independently as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous language and culture.
  • Two years of work experience in a similar role.
  • Security Officer Training or certification required.
  • Must produce a satisfactory driver’s abstract and have a valid Saskatchewan driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety of families, personnel and property.
  • Protect property, monitor surveillance and alarms.
  • Patrol areas to conduct security checks.
  • Develop and implement stand and operating procedures for reporting.
  • Handle incidents, report irregularities and suggest improvements.
  • Provide care while maintaining high standards of service.
  • Respond immediately to emergencies and guide people to safety routes and exits.
  • Remain calm during stressful events and manage crowds responsibly.
  • Create a warm, homelike environment for families.
  • Participate in required trainings and cultural/community activities.

SECURITY WORKER
Position Summary

YUASNI TIPI FAMILY TREATMENT CENTRE – PAGC is actively seeking to recruit a casual Security Worker. This position is responsible for ensuring the highest safety and security standards for the Inpatient Treatment Centre and families (subject to Personnel Policies and Procedures of Prince Albert Grand Council).

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Ensuring safety of families, personnel and property;
  • Protecting property, monitoring surveillance and alarms;
  • Patrolling areas to due security checks;
  • Developing and implementing stand and operating procedures for reporting;
  • Dealing with incidents, detecting and reporting any irregularities and bringing up suggestions for improvement;
  • Carrying out duties while maintain excellent standards of care;
  • Immediate response to emergencies whenever necessary to assist families.
  • Must tackle stressful events with a calm demeanor, while responsibly handling a crowd, and guide them to safety routes and exits when needed;
  • Provides a warm, homelike environment for the family members;
  • Participate in, in-service and other training sessions required and authorized by Director;
  • Open to participate in cultural, recreational and community activities related to the Centre, as assigned by the Director.
Skills And Qualifications
  • Two (2) years continuous sobriety/abstainer if required by organizational policy.
  • Fluency in English a requirement, fluency in a First Nations language of the Prince Albert Grand Council area an asset;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Must be familiar with video monitoring technology and safety protocols;
  • Must be able to work with minimum supervision
  • Able to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team;
  • Knowledge of Indigenous language and culture;
  • A minimum of two (2) years work experience;
  • Security Officer Training or certification related to security work;
  • Must produce a satisfactory driver’s abstract;
  • Valid Saskatchewan driver’s license.
