A local casino is seeking a Security Supervisor to oversee security operations in Prince Rupert, BC. You will ensure the safety of guests and employees, manage the security shift, and handle reports of incidents. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of security experience, a High School Diploma or GED, and strong leadership skills. This role requires the ability to work flexible hours and a customer-oriented approach.
We are looking for a Security Supervisor for the Chances Casino in Prince Rupert, BC. The Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the activities of the security shift which provides safety and protects all patrons, employees, and company assets. You will review staffing levels to maintain full coverage of posts, delegate authority and assign responsibilities. You will often investigate incidents and/or customer complaints and compile data for accurate reporting. We’re looking for someone with 1 to 3 years of experience in security, who is able to work 40 hours a week across a mix of day, evening, and weekend shifts. The Security Supervisor also needs to be available to work holidays. This position is comprised of about 50% security work, 25% supervisory work, 20% reporting work, and 5% customer service work. Our Security Supervisor needs to be able perform security and safety tasks such as patrolling, monitoring physical access points, reviewing surveillance footage, and managing underage, intoxicated, and suspicious persons. The ability and willingness to exercise crowd control and defuse potentially volatile situations is also necessary. As a result, we’re looking for someone with Appropriate Response Training Level 1 and 2, who can work independently, use good judgment, and prioritize with little to no direction. As a supervisor, you will need to be able to coach staff, manage the security departments staffing, track attendance, exemplify proper grooming and dress code, onboard and train new security employees, and monitor and manage the security shift. As such, we’re looking for someone with strong communication and leadership skills. The Security Supervisor needs to be able to complete reports, and so requires strong written English skills, including proper grammar and spelling. Reports include end of shift, accident, and incident reports as well as reports of suspicious activity, Voluntary Self Exclusions, and unattended children. The Security Supervisor also needs to be able to navigate the iTrak system. This role is customer-facing, and requires some customer service skills, including an ability to greet and acknowledge guests, build a working relationship with internal and external guests, and assist with awareness and promotion of Company promotions. The successful candidate for this role will need to have a High School Diploma or GED certificate, be able to pass a criminal record check with the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch (GPEB), have Anti-Money Laundering training, and preferably, have a Gaming Security Officer License.
