About the Role
On behalf of our client in the Banking industry, Astek Canada is seeking a motivated Security Specialist ready to take on new challenges.
Your Responsibilities
As a Security Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Designing and delivering the Bank’s DNS and Load Balancing solutions.
- Collaborating with security, LAN/WAN, and application teams across the bank to understand their security, DNS, DHCP, and Load Balancing requirements as they relate to network and security policies.
- Ensuring security requirements are met, working with teams to secure solutions, creating and designing test scenarios, documenting processes, following change management policies, and passing solutions to operational support teams for deployment.
- Possessing deep knowledge of how different technologies work together in network and network security environments.
- Understanding attack vectors at network, service, and application layers, and how technologies like DNS, IPAM, DHCP, and Load Balancers are used within enterprise networks.
- Delivering solutions reliably, timely, and consistently, especially for large initiatives with tight timelines and specific requirements.
Your Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- University or college degree, or equivalent experience, in Network infrastructure, DNS, DHCP, BIND, Load Balancing, or related fields.
- At least 8 years of experience configuring and supporting DNS, DHCP, IPAM, and Load Balancing methods from L1-L7.
Key Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of GTM, LTM, IQuery.
- Working knowledge of SSL protocols and ciphers.
- Minimum 8 years working with enterprise networks from both technical and security perspectives, primarily in Cisco-based environments.
- Deep understanding of network and Internet Protocols (DNS, RADIUS, SMTP, etc.), analysis, and deep packet inspection.
- Knowledge of iApps / iRules.
- Experience with application onboarding and SSL certificates.
- Strong expertise as a Network Security Specialist providing 2nd or 3rd level support, especially in DNS/DHCP IP management.
- Ability to resolve service-related outages and troubleshoot network-wide issues.
- At least 7 years working on large-scale enterprise networks from deployment and operational perspectives.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with packet and flow analysis.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with application delivery, load-balancing, or content delivery using F5 products.
- Ability to document methods and processes clearly.
- Understanding of network security authentication and authorization related to network flows and application delivery.
- Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts to business stakeholders.
