About the position:

We are seeking candidates interested in becoming valued members of our cyber community!

Reporting to the Assistant Director, Cyber Architecture, you will join a team tasked with assessing, developing, and implementing security architecture designs to meet the cyber resiliency standards of internal and external facing Bank products and programs.

What you will do:
As a Security Solutions Architect, you will:

  • Guide IT Cyber Security team and our internal product development communities through risk management and cyber assessments
  • Establish frameworks to measure and report on the cyber risk and resiliency of critical components to the Canadian Financial System.
  • Collaborate with business groups to conduct cyber assessments when called upon.
  • Research and monitor innovative technology developments and industry trends.
  • Contribute to the evolution of our Cyber Security Risk processes, tools, and standards.
  • Develop implementation guidelines and procedures.


What you need to succeed
You are a great teammate, willing to communicate and work with colleagues or other architects to deliver end-to-end solutions. You are also a self-starter, capable of grasping new information and providing innovative solutions in a team environment.

In addition, you have:

Experience in:

  • Developing and implementing security policies and security standards
  • Performing or involved in security assessments (vendors and solutions), including translating into cyber risk governance and risk management systems and process.
  • Architecture & design techniques and tools


Knowledge of:

  • Enterprise architecture & risk management frameworks
  • Cyber Security standards such as: NIST 800-53, ISO 27001/27002, SOC 2
  • Various cyber based concepts such as Identity and Access Management, Vulnerability and Threat Management, Zero Trust Architectures, Data Loss Prevention, etc.
  • Tool and techniques to secure cloud-based workloads


Nice-to-have:

  • Previous experience in a financial, banking, and/or payments environment
  • Proven experience with cloud security (Azure preferred)
  • CISSP, CISA, CRISC, CCSA


Your education and experience
Your combined education and work experience demonstrate that you have the proficiencies and skills for the role. We are ideally seeking candidates with a relevant degree/diploma and 5+ years of relevant experience.

Language requirement
The Bank’s work environment is conducive to the use of both of Canada’s official languages - English and French. Although the position language requirement is English or French essential, we do encourage everyone to improve second their language proficiency for future career growth and to contribute towards fostering a bilingual environment.

Hybrid Work Model

The Bank offers work arrangements that provide employees with flexibility, enable high-performing teams, and support an excellent workplace culture. Most employees can telework from home for a substantial part of each month as part of the Bank`s hybrid work model, and they are expected on site at the Bank location a minimum of eight days per month to help build connections between colleagues. You must live in Canada, and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.

  • Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $124,279to $146,211 (job grade 18)
  • The Bank offers an incentive for successfully meeting expectations at 7 to 10% of your base salary. The Bank offers additional performance pay (5%) for those who exceed expectations.Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
  • Flexible and comprehensive benefits so you can choose the level of health and dental coverage that meets your needs
  • Extra vacation days (up to five each year) that you can purchase to add to your vacation entitlement
  • Option to join the indexed, defined-benefit pension plan after 24 consecutive months of service
