Role: Security Program Manager
Location: Remote @ Vancouver BC (EST Time Zone)
Duration: 6+ Months
Pay Rate: $50-$53/hr
Oversee project delivery, resource allocation, and timelines, serving as the primary contact for escalations and resource issues. Develop program strategy and project plans, ensuring alignment with strategic and business goals, and taking into account all dependencies and constraints. Adjust scope, timing, and budgets as necessary, based upon the needs of the business. Manage cross-functional programs and projects across various sites & geographical locations, maintaining detailed schedules and plans, considering dependencies and constraints, defining key tasks, tracking project deliverables, dependencies, and milestones throughout the complete project lifecycle. Maintain the efficiency of the project management process such as planning, scheduling, and budget and risk assessment. Identify and mitigate potential risks. Control project scope, quality, schedule, cost, and contracts through effective change management. Manage change in accordance with change management plan.
Proactively drive projects to successful completion by closely monitoring project progress, addressing any roadblocks promptly, and ensuring that all milestones and deliverables are met on time and within scope. Facilitate effective decision-making processes to maintain project momentum and alignment with strategic objectives. Ensure smooth operations of project activities across all phases, from initiation to closure, including orchestrating the seamless coordination of teams, resources, and tasks across multiple locations, maintaining constant communication, and promptly addressing operational challenges to keep projects on track and aligned with business goals.
Identify, recommend, and implement improvements in operational processes and project management practices. Establish KPIs and report on program performance, highlighting achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement. Provide recommendations to streamline or make existing processes more efficient.
Strong communication skills to work across technical and non-technical teams, partners and leadership. Ability to translate complex concepts simply for varied audiences. Manage process documentation, milestone mapping, task prioritization, and enhance teamwork through effective communication. Capture, report, and communicate project and program status to Security and Program leadership, ensuring transparency and collaboration. Partner with Program leadership to identify and prioritize opportunities for utilizing resources to achieve the goals of the enterprise. Communicate with Security and Program leadership to articulate program strategy, direction and changes.
Working knowledge of compliance frameworks like ISO, NIST, GDPR and/or other global compliance standards. Good working understanding of the Three Lines of Defense Model and applications within a regulated, global business. Maintain strict adherence to the client IT and Security policies and procedures. Ensure accurate and current program information for stakeholders by updating program management systems.
Experience with program lifecycles, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and conflict resolution techniques. 6+ years of experience in Project Management, Program Management or a similar field. 3+ years of experience supporting security engineering, regulatory compliance, risk management, audit, or other applicable programs/projects. Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision across time zones and geographies.
Recommended: A degree in Computer Science or a related field. Alternatively, candidates with a minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience in IT and Security Program Management, particularly with a focus on managing enterprise-scale projects and remote personnel, may be considered. Proficiency in project management methodologies, information security best practices, and relevant technical skills is essential. PMP or similar certifications are a plus.
